The girls had their first soccer practice on Wednesday. Alina tried really hard, and as you can tell by the pictures was really tired by the time it was all done. I did not get any pictures of McKayla because her field was a lot bigger than Alina's, so she never came close enough.

Soccer
I signed the girls up for soccer today so we went to the store to get them shoes and stuff. They had a package deal where you got the shoes, socks, shin guards, ball and bag all in one. Alina picked everything out in pink and when we got home she had to put it all on and play soccer. I don't think she is ever going to take this stuff off.

School
So, as you all know McKayla started school on Thursday, but what you may not know is that it has been quite a roller coaster. When I picked her up on Thursday and asked her how school was she started to cry and said "I never want to go back, school is no place for me." The teacher made her sit, she couldn't talk and she had to stay on the gravel during recess. Friday was a little better, but not much, she got sent to refocus for talking during class and did not get a blue ticket. Monday was another sad day she again stated that "school is no place for me." She was not sent to refocus and did not get a blue ticket (which are good) Tuesday was much better, she had fun, but some boys made fun of her on the playground and pulled her bow. Wednesday was great. I picked her up and she wouldn't stop talking about all the fun things she did AND she got a blue ticket for being quit during reading time. Hopefully we will have more days like today and less like Thursday and Monday.

Tortellini with Cream, butter and cheese
This is really similar to the Alfredo recipe that I posted a couple of weeks ago, and is really good and unlike the Alfredo recipe this one is really healthy! (HA)
1 lb fresh tortellini
4 tbs butter
1 1/4 c heavy cream
3/4 c grated Parmesan
Freshly grated nutmeg
salt and pepper to taste
-Cook the pasta according to package directions
-Melt the butter in a medium sauce pan and stir in the cream. Bring to a boil and cook for 2-3 minutes until mixture is slightly thickened, stirring frequently. Add Parmesan, stirring continuously over a moderate heat until all of it has melted. Season to taste with nutmeg, salt and pepper.
-Drain the pasta well and spoon into a buttered heatproof serving dish. Pour the sauce over, sprinkle with more Parmesan cheese and place preheated oven, cook until brown and bubbling on top. (I cooked it at 400 for about 20 minutes)
