Bon Appetit

So, I shouldn't say the food was the highlight of our trip, but it kind of was.  The girls were so excited to get doughnuts our first morning there.

The bakeries in France were wonderful.  I ate more crescents than I care to mention.

We mostly ate at little shops, foods stands and bakeries.

Nothing like hot chocolate and pizza to warm you up.

Crepes!!

Alina's crepe was full of strawberry jam and cream.

We had to try French fries in France.

The girls got to try roasted chestnuts at the Christmas markets.  They did not like them.

However, the pretzels were amazing.

The Christmas markets had so much food.  These German potatoes we a big hit.

Yum!

Notre Dame

We each picked one thing in Paris we wanted to do, McKayla chose Notre Dame.

You will notice McKayla carrying around a box in a lot of pictures.  She had a baby penguin project for school and had to care for a hard boiled egg for a week.  It had to go every where with her and she would lose points if the egg cracked.

Joan of Arc

Sainte Chapelle

We were told we needed to see Sainte Chapelle.  We were not overly impressed when we walked in.

Then we walked up the stairs and were blown away.

All four walls are stained glass

The Louvre

Getting ready to go in.

McKayla thought the fountains were wonderful.

McKayla loved the Louvre.  She did not want to leave and could have spent all day looking at the art.

The Mona Lisa

Pont Neuf

The Eiffel Tower

You can probably guess whose choice the Eiffel Tower was.

In the elevator to go up into the tower.

According to Alina this was the BEST DAY OF HER LIFE!!!

It was quite foggy, so we couldn't see very much.  We rode all the way to the top, just to say we had done it.

We went and took pictures our first night in Paris so we could see it all lite up.

They do a light show every hour and it lasts about five minutes.  They girls did not want to turn around because they did not want to miss any of it.

McKayla takes over the camera when Ky and I want a picture together.  She is getting pretty good.

Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe was Ky's choice.  The views from the top were amazing.

We had to climb 284 stairs up a small spiral stair case to get to the top of the Arc.  And that many again to get back down.

Thanks for looking
