Random Christmas pictures

McKayla

McKayla was so excited to open presents. She got a new sleep mask, so now if we loose one she can still go to sleep. She got window crayons and paint and started using them before all of her gifts were open.

Alina

Alina was so fun to watch. She was so excited about everything she got to open. We heard lots of "I always wanted one of these" or "Whoa, whoa, whoa what is it?"

Christmas Morning

We told the girls that they were not allowed out of their rooms until 7. They complied, however were up at 6am playing really loud. So, we let them get up if they agreed to let us go back to bed when they were done.

Christmas Eve

The girls got to open one present on Christmas eve. They both got a robe and were thrilled. They have not taken them off since they got them.

Black out

Alina got her first black out on her bingo chart. Both girls turned in their bingo bucks and went to see the Princess and the Frog.

Polar Express Party

All the first grade class rooms did a Polar Express Party on Friday. Each kid got a train ticket and there were conductor by each door to punch their tickets. They got to drink hot chocolate and do fun Christmas crafts. McKayla had a great time and even got a silver bell from Santa.

FHE

McKayla was in charge of our family home evening lesson a while ago, and decided she was going to do it all by herself. So we had a Barbi puppet show of king Noah and Abinadi, it was very entertaining.

Addition

Alina: "one hundred plus twelve."
Me: "What does that equal?"
Alina: "Like a million."

O Christmas Tree

We put up Christmas decoration on Friday, but I made kids wait until Saturday to put the tree up so Ky would be home. They were so excited to see all their ornaments and put them on the tree. We ended up with three ornaments per branch, so I need to go rearrange a little. maybe next year they will get the concept of spreading them out.

When my brother's strength had failed him he had the kids do push-ups to the nursery rhyme "Jack and Jill." The kids had a great time, even though they cheated on their push-ups.

Thanksgiving

We had eighteen people at our house for Thanksgiving and ten of them were kids. My brother entertained the kids by letting them sit on his back while he did push-ups. We figured out that the four girls weighed a total of 165 pounds. As you can see in one of the pictures there is a line to be held up in the air. I think he got his workout for the day.

McKayla: "Mom, do some people get babies in their tummies before they are married?"
WHAT!! Where does she come up with this stuff?
Me: "Well ya, some people do."
Mckayla: "Well, how?"
Me: "Ahhhhh"
Ky: "They made some really bad choices."
McKayla with a look of terror on her face: "Have I made any really bad choices?"

Cornhole

This was Kyle's craft project for the year. I really didn't think that he could pull off this amount of detail, but he never ceases to amaze me. He is quite possibly the perfect man. For those of you who don't know what you're looking at, these are Cornhole boards. For those of you who don't know what Cornhole is you are missing out on probably the best backyard game since lawn darts

Utah

We went to Utah this past week for Ky's brother's wedding. The girls had a great time and loved the fancy dinner, reception and clothes. I only got a few pictures, so here they are. The girls cousin Taya riding in the car with them, they were all so excited to be together. The other one is the three of them watching Barbi A Christmas Carol while waiting for the dinner to get started.

Hats

My dad sent the girls these hats from Nepal. They loved them. Here they are modeling them for you.

Trick or treating

The girls had a great time trick or treating, this was their first time.

Happy Halloween

The girls has a blast this Halloween. I let them put their costumes on first thing in the morning and they got to wear them all day. We went out to to store and they loved all the compliments. They got to trunk or treat at the church and then we went to Madelyn's house and trick or treated on her street. Their buckets were so full that when we went to dump them nothing would come out. They were both great about throwing away any open candy and getting rid of any chewy candy.

cookies in the milk jug

McKayla: "Mom, you are going to be soooo mad." (This is never good to hear!)
Me: "What did you do?"
Mckayla: "I didn't do anything, but sissy was trying to get cookies and milk."
Me: "So did she spill the milk?"
McKayla: "No. she dropped her cookie in the milk carton."

Just so you know, the milk carton was less than half full.

Me: "Alina, why didn't you get a cup?"
Alina: "The milk jug was too heavy so I couldn't pour it."

I still don't understand how she thought she could dip her cookie in the half empty milk carton. And I really don't understand how she got a piece of cookie that big through the little hole at the top of the milk.

So question: Has anyone else ever had to fish cookie out of a carton of milk? Or do I just have brilliant children?

pumpkins

We finally carved pumpkins this week, the girls have been begging to do so for the past month. We almost didn't get any pumpkins because they were all bad when we went to look for them. The weather has been so cold that all the pumpkins froze then rotted. Luckily Target keeps theirs inside, so we were able to get some. The girls loved scooping out all the goo and picking out a pattern for them.

Flying W Ranch

Alina wanted to go to the Flying W Ranch for her birthday dinner, and I must say it was a good choice. The food was surprisingly good and the show was excellent. But, it wouldn't be an expensive night out if Alina didn't fall asleep, so there is a picture included of that as well.

Happy Birthday Alina

The day started at 6:00am with Alina running into our room excited about her birthday, and us sending her back to bed, or at least her room. She was sooooooo excited all day long, she kept saying "it's my birthday and I'm five years old." She got to open all her presents this morning before Ky went to work and also go to blow out her candles, which were trick candles, (I think McKayla was getting a little freaked out by them, she thought they were possessed or something.)

Field Day

The girls had field day at their school on Thursday and I was able to be there to help out and watch the girls have fun. These pictures are of the class relays. I think the kids were so tired by this point that they were a little less than enthused.

Thanks for looking
