Crazy Horse

Our last day we did Crazy Horse, which, when done will be amazing. They had a great orientation video and the scale models off the sculpture.

The worst day of my life

This picture records the worst day of Alina's life. Note that this was taken the day we went to Mt Rushmore and Custer State Park. She fell at our camp sight and got this tiny scratch on her knee, you can almost see a little white line if you look really close. And yes, she really did say "this is the worst day of my life."

Burros

While we were at Custer we came across this heard of burros. You can tell they have been fed a lot because they new the sound of your car window rolling down. they would come over to your car and stick their heads in looking for food. As you can imagine the girls thought this was great. there were also several babies in the heard. We sat and watched them for about 20 minutes, but only because they were blocking the road and we couldn't get by.

Custer State Park

We also did Custer State Park while we were in South Dakota and I think is was our favorite place. There were tons of Bison right off the road. We drove around an 18 mile loop and were able to pull off and watch the animals when we came across them. The girls loved this part of our trip. We were all amazed at how close the animals were to the road.

After we left Rushmore we headed for Custer State Park. We had to drive through all the tunnels and one lane bridges that were blasted out of the granite. It was a beautiful drive.

Jr Ranger

McKayla completed the Jr Ranger program while we were at Mt Rushmore. She had to fill out a booklet and answer all the questions in it. She was then sworn in as a Jr Ranger and given a badge. She wore the badge the rest of the trip.
